Welcome to the Houston Voting Initiative

The Houston Voting Initiative originated from the concept of grassroots community involvement in a broad-based collaborative effort between partnered civic-minded organizations whose ties to communities of color are deeply embedded. Houston Voting Initiative received its 501(c)(3) status on January 31, 2024, thus becoming a nonpartisan political organization whose mission is to register, educate, mobilize, and turn out voters in underserved, underrepresented, and marginalized communities of color.

The Houston Voting Initiative is where our passion lies in ensuring that all eligible voters actively participate in local, state, and national elections. Through civic engagement, Houston Voting Initiative strives to amplify the voices of every resident in the Greater Houston Metropolitan Area, equipping them with fact-based nonpartisan knowledge to encourage voting on issues crucial to their respective communities. Our core mission is to empower individuals through education and mobilization, ensuring that every vote contributes to shaping our collective future in a profound way due to the responsiveness of elected political leaders.
